Chris Hemsworth's Powerful Workout

Chris Hemsworth, star of the Thor superhero movies, had to do some tough workout routines to get the right body to play the part. The actor, along with his personal trainer, Luke Zocchi, undertook a great race full of many weights, red meat, and long hours in training to achieve the perfect body for the interpretation. To look like a superhero, Chris had to gain 10 kilograms of muscle mass. It was not easy to achieve this, especially having to be constantly eating to achieve the goal. It was a difficult challenge since the actor Hemsworth had to eat even when he did not want and in great proportions to be able to acquire the body that today defines him as a real superhero.

Before starting to prepare for this great routine and change of pace in his exercises, Chris was already quite athletic. The Australian actor surfed, boxed, and also played rugby. To increase the volume of his muscle mass, he concentrated on performing strength exercises with a lot of weight.

For him, it is very important to have the necessary knowledge when performing the exercises. it is important to know how to hold the barbell, the dumbbells, the position of the back, contract the abdomen, and all the small details that must be taken into account at the time of performing any physical activity.

In addition to his personal trainer, "Thor" was supervised by Duffy Gaver, a Hollywood trainer. The workouts were done as follows: four days of workout, one day of rest, and then again, four more days and so on.

The routine that the actor undertook was specially designed for him and with the purpose of reaching the goal of becoming Thor. This workout is not recommended for people who are just starting to exercise. Hemsworth's four-day workout was structured as follows:

On the morning of the day one worked on the chest and shoulders. The exercises were divided into 5 sets of bench dumbbell openings, three sets of twelve, ten, and eight repetitions. Bench press lying down (with medium grip), three sets of twelve, ten, and eight reps as well. Side dumbbell sits ups, three sets of fifteen, twelve, and ten repetitions. Standing side dumbbell lifts, three sets of fifteen, twelve, and ten repetitions, as well and Arnold Press with the same number of sets and repetitions.

In the afternoon of day one, he trained box and abdomen with three exercises with some alternatives and variations between them. Blows on the boxing bag, five sets of three minutes each. Kicks on boxing bag and jump rope, both exercises with the same amount of series and time. An alternative to the workout of this day was thirty minutes of cardio at varying speeds. After Flexion of elbows (similar to the hands stop, but on the elbows), sixty-seconds, he did sixty-second side iron too. Leg lifting on Roman bench, Abdominal shrinking with pulley and lateral abs, 20 repetitions each exercise. The exercises had to be performed in three sets with rest of 1 to 2 minutes.

For day two, the muscles to exercise were the arms and the back. In the morning, they did three sets of fifteen, twelve, and ten repetitions of pull-ups. Then deadlift, three sets of ten, eight, and six reps. After biceps curls with bar and French Press for triceps, both exercises with 3 series of ten, eight and six reps. In the afternoon they did the same routine of the afternoon of day one.

On day 3, they surfed in the morning. When they could not go surfing, they did thirty minutes of cardio at varying speeds. In the afternoon, they were dedicated to strengthening the legs. They performed seated leg extensions on the machine, lying down leg curl and deep squats with a bar. All exercises were performed in 3 sets of ten, eight and six reps.

Finally, for day four they were engaged in exercises for the abdomen, as on day one and took the next day off.

After having been training so hard to get the ideal body for the role of Thor, the actor acknowledged that it is not easy to maintain a physicality like that. He revealed that he had a vacation where he lost a lot of weight and that in turn damaged his Thor physique. To maintain a body like that one must be very active and persistent with the workout. However, Chris stays in shape and sometimes performs sports activities that motivate him to keep his body healthy and fit. For Hemsworth, it is very important to maintain a good physical appearance since that depends on his career as an actor. To emphasize that in the sequels of the films of Thor and The Avengers, Chris did not need to return to do the workout as such but simply to resume a series of exercises that would allow him to return to his condition of Thor. After having recorded Thor: Ragnarok and The Avengers, the actor disregarded the routine and returned to his basic exercises just keep his figure and attract the attention of film directors.
